We see hoopoes in many places on Lanzarote, even in Arrecife at the Parque Temático.
We regularly spot flocks of them in Tahiche, behind the garden centre, next door to S.A.R.A., when we are out walking the dogs.
I've always loved hoopoes and Neil, my very good friend, made me a special tatoo of one on my arm several years ago.
I have just learnt that the collective noun for them is an "Absurdity of Hoopoes"
Hoopoes love dust baths and are unique, alone in their taxonomic family.
